The 5-match ODI series between England and Pakistan saw high scores be the norm as 300+ totals were comfortably achieved by both sides. This trend of batting-friendly surfaces is expected to be repeated throughout the World Cup in England and Wales.
Talking about the nature of the pitches he has observed thus far, Pakistan’s senior all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez claimed that he was satisfied with what he has seen. Hoping that the wear and tear of the pitches remain a rarity as the tournament progresses, Hafeez was positive about his team’s batsmen being able to cope with the conditions.
“The series we played here before the World Cup, I’ve never seen the pitches like that before. There’s something to adjust, and I think everyone is ready for that. The pitches are immaculate now but let’s see how it goes as the tournament progresses,” Hafeez optimistically said.
