Unlike Pakistan’s history, the batting line-up has been performing significantly better than Pakistan’s bowling attack in the recent times. In general, the Pakistani bowlers are looking toothless and devoid of ideas over the last couple of series.
However, if the Green Shirts want to get their hands on the ICC World Cup trophy, then it means that they need to rethink upon their bowling strategies. Former fast bowler, Shoaib Akhtar has suggested the new-ball pair for Pakistan which he believes will be beneficial for them in the mega-event ahead.
Akhtar mentioned that pace bowling duo of Mohammad Amir and Hasan Ali is ideally suited to bowl with the new ball, bearing in mind the nature of pitches to be used during the World Cup.
“On these pitches Pakistan should make use of Hasan Ali and Mohammad Amir as their new ball bowlers. The surfaces in England will assist a bowler like Hasan Ali,” Akhtar said.
The ‘Rawalpindi Express’ was also impressed with performance of left-arm pacer Wahab Riaz, after the warm-up game against Afghanistan, where he bowled brilliantly at the death overs.
