PCB denies Sharjeel Khan permission to play

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided against allowing opening batsman Sharjeel Khan to participate in domestic cricket after he had requested the board for permission so that he could resume cricket before the end of his ban in September this year.

According to the rules of PCB, a player is permitted to participate in cricket at the domestic level only when he/she shows remorse and enters the rehabilitation process conducted by the cricket board. However, since the batsman had not done any of the above-mentioned things, therefore, his request has been declined by the PCB.

The 29-year-old was banned from playing any form of cricket in 2017 after he was found guilty of being involved in suspicious activities during the second season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
