It is pertinent for any cricketing side’s progress to improve the pool of talent they have available among the junior levels of the sport. In this scenario, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revamped their junior selection committee, tasked with handpicking talent for the younger sides.
Interestingly, they have retained only one person from the previous committee, while inducting Arshad Khan, Rao Iftikhar Anjum, Taufeeq Umer and Saleem Jaffar into the 5-person panel.
All of these individuals have represented Pakistan at the highest level, with some of them going on to have a long career in international cricket. Hoping to uplift the standards of the sport from the grassroots level, the new junior selection committee has a crucial role to play in ensuring a better future for Pakistan cricket.
