After scheduling a plethora of Pakistan Super League (PSL) games and a handful of International fixtures in the country, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is dreaming big. Getting the hosting rights of 2020 edition of the glitzy Asia Cup jubilated the governing body of Pakistan Cricket as their efforts are now reaping fruits.
While a major chunk believes that the board will host the Asia’s World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani is adamant to convince teams to visit Pakistan for the much celebrated event. The tournament is scheduled to take place in September next year ahead of the Twenty20 World Cup in Australia.
Sharing his views on the recent development, Mani added that the hosting decision was taken unanimously at the last Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting. Moreover, the former International Cricket Council (ICC) President confirmed Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI’s) cooperation in this regard. However, a final call would be taken before the tournament as BCCI will seek government’s permission to participate in the competition.
