Gambhir terms Virat’s intensity key to India’s World Cup hopes

Indian team is stepping into the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament with an ideal set of preparations. The men in blue seem to have most of the angles covered as skipper Virat Kohli is sitting supremely confident about leading a strong World Cup campaign in the running edition of the mega-event.

While it is known to all but former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has recently reiterated the significance of Virat to India. The cricketer turned politician believes that India will make it to the final-four along with Australia, New Zealand and England. However, the 37-year old added that the Delhi born player’s energy will be crucial to India’s World Cup journey. The high-quality Indian side will begin their World Cup campaign with a game against South Africa on June 5 at Southampton.

“England, India, Australia and New Zealand are the four expected semi-finalists. India has a good chance of winning the tournament but for that to happen, Virat’s intensity will hold the key as he lifts the whole unit,” opined by the newly elected member of India’s parliament.
