Pakistan Noble Peace Prize Laureate, Malala Yousufzai represented Pakistan alongside Azhar Ali in the star-studded opening ceremony of the ICC World Cup 2019. The ICC World Cup’s opening ceremony was attended by cricketers and celebrities from all the 10 participating nations at the Buckingham Palace.
Malala, who is a self-professed cricket-lover, claimed in an interview that she is a big fan of Pakistani bowlers. She said playing cricket was part of her childhood as she used to play with her brother on the streets and the rooftops.
“So many, I can’t pick one [favourite], but Hasan Ali, Shadab Khan, many more. I am a big fan of the Pakistan bowlers. They are all incredible. I wish good luck to every player out there,” she said. Furthermore, the Nobel Peace Prize winner stressed on cricket being a binding factor among different communities.
