Pakistan's former captain, Misbah-ul-Haq expressed his views over Mohammad Amir's performance against the Windies in the 2nd match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Mohammad Amir took 3 wickets for 26 runs as Pakistan came out to defend only a total of 106 runs.
Where everyone took Amir's performance as a good sign for Pakistan, Misbah had slightly antagonistic views. Misbah said, "It was a positive sign for Pakistan as Amir took 3 wickets, but I am still worried about Amir's form".
"Mohammad Amir lacked zip and swing upfront which is required to intimidate the batsmen of the opposition", Misbah felt. He wants Amir to come as hard as possible with the new ball and show the world that we are here to fight.
Pakistan's performance with the new ball has been miserable in the last 12 matches or so. They have seemed to lose their ability to pick wickets in the first ten overs of the powerplay. Pakistani bowlers need to find the rhythm in order to make a comeback in this world cup.
