Pakistan’s U-19 side have defeated Sri Lanka U-19 in the fourth 50-over match in the 5-match series to gain an unassailable 3-1 lead. Opening batsman Haider Ali and skipper Rohail Nazir were at the helm of Pakistan’s dominance with the bat as the duo struck excellent half-centuries to give the team momentum to chase down the required target.
Haider posted a 95-ball 93, taking charge of the innings from the get-go, as he smashed 7 fours and a solitary six in his enterprising knock. Meanwhile, Rohail starred with the bat once again, bringing up his third consecutive fifty in the series.
The contest proved to be a one-sided affair as Pakistan marched towards the modest target of 196 inside 35 overs for the loss of just 3 wickets. The impressive performances of the youngsters indicates that Pakistan cricket is moving in the right direction.
