The high-octane World Cup clash between Pakistan and India is all set to take place on June 16 at Old Trafford. Despite the traditional rivalry that adds up to the hype for the match, the wide mismatch between the two existing teams heavily points to India as clear favorites.
India’s veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has also emphasized this, as he has claimed that Pakistan do not possess the firepower needed to trump India. Despite the 2017 Champions Trophy final triumph, Harbhajan thinks Pakistan on paper is very weak and does not have the ability to challenge India.
“India vs Pakistan is not as big as India vs England. Maybe from the media perspective, India vs Pakistan is more hyped up. But from a cricketing aspect, India vs England is more important. India can beat this Pakistan team 9 and a half times out of 10 times,” Harbhajan said.
“India have 11 match-winners and I don’t think Pakistan has the ability to beat this Indian team,” he added. It is pertinent to note that Pakistan has never won a World Cup match against India, with the scoreline reading 6-0 in India’s favor.
