The hype is building up for the clash between traditional rivals Pakistan and India scheduled to take place on June 16 in Manchester. Pakistan are yet to beat India in a World Cup match, a record that many pundits are claiming would be maintained by India in this tournament as well.
Experienced middle order batsman Suresh Raina has also lent legitimacy to this sentiment as he believes that India has a probable chance of defeating Pakistan, provided they start their World Cup campaign on a winning note.
“I do not think that at this point of time, any of the players will be thinking about Pakistan match because we need to do well in our initial matches and if we will be able to win those matches then I do not think there will be an issue for Pakistan match,” Raina stated.
However, he cautioned that if India loses a couple of its opening encounters, then the pressure would be immense on Virat Kohli’s men to beat Pakistan.
