Pakistan were bitterly criticized for their shocking start to the World Cup campaign where they were bundled out for just 105 on the board by the West Indies quick bowlers. Following their abject performance, several former cricketers lashed out Sarfaraz Ahmed’s men while some even proceeded to make fun of the fitness of certain members of the team.
This point was addressed by bowling coach Azhar Mahmood recently who appeared disappointed with some of the comments from former Pakistan players. He pleaded with the ex-cricketers back home to get behind the team and provide them with full support at such a crucial moment.
“The former players have played with us in past and we know that what they were and what they’ve been through. If team isn’t playing good then criticize on cricket, but personal attacks aren’t good,” he said.
“I just request all that this is your team and you all must back this team. Today team is struggling but good times will come. These were same players who have won Champions Trophy,” he reiterated.
