Pakistan’s torrid start to ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 has started a new debate regarding the preparations of the team which has been in England for almost a month now. The green shirts were exposed against the short ball strategy of the West Indies pacers in Trent Bridge on Friday.
After the embarrassing defeat, Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed was heavily criticized by former speedster Shoaib Akhtar as he said that the poor fitness of the captain has not only affected his performances but has also set a wrong example for the team.
However, former Pakistani skipper Moin Khan came out in defence of Sarfraz after the harsh criticism by the fast bowler as he said that Shoaib should not have said such things about the player who is leading the national side of Pakistan.
He also said that Akhtar was never really serious about his own fitness and his commitment to the team which was the reason why he failed to get 400-500 wickets for Pakistan.
