Shadab Khan’s opening spell turned out to be fruitful for Pakistan

Pakistan's captain Sarfraz Ahmad made a bold decision after he opted for Shadab Khan to open the bowling for Pakistan in the 6th World Cup match against England. His decision bore fruit straight away as he trapped Jason Roy Leg-before wicket (LBW).

Before this, South Africa also opted for Imran Tahir to open the bowling against England and he got rid of Jonny Bairstow. This decision prompted Pakistani management to go with the same tactics.

England openers might now face spin straight away in the upcoming matches as they generally tend to play with hard hands at the beginning. Shadab Khan bowled well in the match and picked up 2 wickets for 63 runs in his 10-over spell.
