The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has sought permission from its government in order to go ahead with hosting the Pakistan women cricket team for an ODI series later this year. The Pakistan tour to India is part of the schedule of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Women Championship.
“As per the schedule of the event, BCCI is to host Pakistan women's team for at least three ODIs in India between July and November. BCCI would like to seek necessary permission from the government of India before giving its consent to ICC on this subject,” a report in Indian media claimed.
Tense political relations between the two neighboring countries have meant that the two teams do not face each other in bilateral cricket series. Pakistan and India thus only lock horns during ICC tournaments.
