The South African cricket team has suffered a major blow ahead of its 4th game in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup as experienced fast bowler Dale Steyn has been ruled out of the tournament due to his shoulder injury.
The pacer might not be able to make a comeback to the national side after this blow as he has been struggling with his shoulder for a couple of years now and the team would have to settle with the available fast bowling reserves.
Former Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar has said that Steyn is the greatest fast bowler of the last decade and there is no question about it. However, he does feel that the speedster deserved a better exit from international cricket than getting out by an injury.
Akhtar said that the Proteas pacer has been a great player for his country over the years which is why he should have had a proper farewell from cricket and its quite unfortunate to see one of the greats of the game go down like this.
