MS Dhoni will not be able to sport the Indian Army insignia on his keeping gloves during the ongoing ICC
Cricket World Cup as the International Cricket Council (ICC) has turned down Board of Control for Cricket
in India (BCCI)’s appeal for the same.
“The regulations for ICC events do not permit any individual message or logo to be displayed on anyitems of clothing or equipment. In addition to this, the logo also breaches the regulations in relation towhat is permitted on wicketkeeper gloves,” ICC said in a statement.
During India’s opening World Cup game against South Africa in Southampton, Dhoni’s keeping gloves
had a dagger logo embossed, which looked more like an Army insignia.
