Afghanistan’s veteran wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Shahzad is going back home as he suffered a knee injury during the first few games of the mega event.
He has been replaced by an U-19 sensation Ikram Ali Khil. Shahzad’s absence will have a huge impact on the morale of the Afghan team as he is one of the most experienced guys in their team.
Mohammad Shahzad has been a prolific run-scorer for Afghanistan for quite some time and he’s been giving them swift starts with some explosive power hitting at the beginning.
Shahzad played in the first two matches against Australia & Sri Lanka and contains a huge amount of experience of international cricket. However, Ikram Ali Khil has played just three matches for Afghanistan so far.
