India registered their 2nd consecutive victory in the ICC World Cup 2019 and Australia faced their 1st defeat of the tournament. After putting up a huge total of 352 for Australia, the bowlers of India did a fantastic job by restricting the Aussies to 316.
Experts and former cricketers reacted to Australia’s laborious effort with the bat as almost all of the Aussie batters were not quick enough to match the required run-rate through their chase.
Kevin Pietersen called it a horrible chase whilst Michael Vaughan was also not impressed with the way Australia approached their innings.
Shikhar Dhawan scored a magnificent hundred for his team and the skipper Virat Kohli also contributed with a handy 82 to his name. Warner & Smith scored half-centuries for Australia but both the knocks went in vain as Australia lost the match by 36 runs.
