India took on Australia in one of the toughest World Cup battles at the Oval on 8th June 2019. The Indian captain, Virat Kohli won the toss and rightly elected to bat first. India was off to a dream start courtesy brilliance from Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and Virat Kohli.
After the solid foundation was laid, it was Hardik Pandya who entertained the crowd wholly. Pandya rattled the strong Australian bowling line up and smashed them all around the park.
He scored a quickfire 48 off just 27 balls including 4 boundaries and 3 gigantic sixes. His blitz helped India to climb up to a total of 352 runs. In reply, Australia fell short of 36 runs and it was clear that Hardik's heroics made a clear difference between the two teams at the later part of the innings.
