Virat Kohli has sharply criticized the frequency with which the ‘zing bails’ have refused to come off after the ball hitting the stumps during this World Cup. David Warner was the fifth batsman in this tournament to have been rendered lucky after the heavier LED bails did not budge when ball hit the base of the stumps.
“You literally have to smash the stumps really hard to knock them out. That's me as a batsman saying that. No team will like to see that, if you bowl a good ball and you don't get a guy out. I haven't seen that happen so many times in the past,” he said in the post-match press conference.
Despite the latest occurrence coming in his side’s favor, Aussie skipper Aaron Finch shared Kohli’s seniments that this was largely unfair for the bowlers.
