Shaheen confident of a strong show against Australia

After suffering a washout against Sri Lanka, Pakistan is set to lock horns against defending champions Australia on June 12 at Taunton. Pakistan’s gun pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi is yearning to make his World Cup debut against the Kangaroos as he revealed massive ambitions about uprooting David Warner and Steve Smith.

Ahead of the all-important clash against the mighty Aussies, the 19-year old said that Pakistan is fully ready to counter the stern challenge coming their way. Shaheen discussed the significance of players like Warner and Smith as he revealed that they will be on his radar if he gets a game. With Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz sharing 5 wickets among them against England, Hassan Ali seems to be the only pacer who can make way for Shaheen to get registered in the playing eleven.

“Warner and Smith has made the team stronger than before and if given a chance, I will try to get an early breakthrough for my team. Finch’s wicket will be crucial for us. We are well prepared and the players are highly motivated and looking forward to the tournament,” the Khyber Agency born added.
