While England recorded a strong comeback in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament by delivering a thumping performance against Bangladesh, the fitness of belligerent wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler remains their major concern.
During his sublime innings against Bangladesh, the proficient player experienced discomfort during his hip area which saw Buttler resting during England’s bowling and Jonny Bairstow taking over the gloves.
However, skipper Eoin Morgan has revealed that there is nothing to worry about Buttler as a long gap before their next game will aid their gun player to get back in shape. With Bairstow being a regular wicket-keeper in England’s camp, the think tank could opt to have him performing his duties behind the wickets.
The 32-year old cricketer didn’t rule out the possibility of playing Buttler as a specialist batsman but he preferably wants him to keep wickets. It remains to be seen how England plans things when they’ll take on an unpredictable West Indies side on June 14 at Hampshire Bowl.
