Indian skipper Virat Kohli attracted a lot of praise from the cricketing fraternity following his great gesture of sportsmanship for his Australian counterpart Steve Smith. During India’s clash against Australia in the World Cup recently, Kohli silenced a group of Indian supporters who were booing Smith and later in a press conference apologized on behalf of the fans.
While the world of cricket has been happy on Kohli’s actions, England player Nick Compton decided to criticize the star batsman. Compton believed Kohli’s gesture was unneeded and was rather condescending towards fans who had paid for the ticket to watch the match.
He thought Smith and David Warner had to take whatever came their way in terms of the hostile reception and only their on-field actions will change the attitude towards them instead of people like Kohli intervening.
