India's opening batsman, Shikhar Dhawan suffered an injury blow. The left-handed batsman is reportedly suffering from a hairline fracture in his thumb.
Dhawan is very much likely to miss the games against Pakistan and New Zealand; however, the official decision about his world cup campaign is yet to be made. Till then, he will stay in England with the team.
Michael Hussey, former Australian batsman signaled this injury as a gloomy sign for India. He said, "Dhawan's injury has destabilized India's top-order". Dhawan scored an inexplicable century against Australia and regained good form for India. Sadly, his injury will give India's top-order a huge set back in the important games to come.
