England fast bowler James Anderson wants to achieve the 500 wicket milestone and become the greatest modern day bowler. He will become the first bowler to achieve this milestone from England and is already England’s record leading wicket taker. He is 13 wickets away from the milestone and is expected to reach the milestone in the series against West Indies which a 3 Test match series.
He terms playing 125 Tests for his country as a dream achievement however stated that unlike Alastair Cook, he is not goal driven rather he enjoys seeing the joy which triumph brings on the younger faces of England cricket. No one had imagined him becoming the greatest England fast bowler. He described going past the record of Sir Ian Botham’s 383 Test wickets was a “special occasion” but bettering it 500 Test wickets will be “unimaginable” according to the right armer.
England is set to play the first day/night Test held in the country against West Indies. The leading Test wicket taker has also not played the D/N Test so it will be a new experience for the fast bowler. He called bowling with the pink ball as “uncharted territory” and is excited to be part of a new experience.
