The Pakistani batting lineup has struggled to fulfil the expectations of the management and fans so far in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 as they have underperformed in two crucial games against Australia and West Indies.
The form of senior batsman, Shoaib Malik has been a serious cause of concern for the green shirts as he has been unable to guide the young batting lineup. He also perished cheaply against Australia at a stage when the team needed him to stay.
However, skipper Sarfraz Ahmed has come out in support of his senior player as he feels that Malik is just an innings away from getting his form back and he hopes to see that innings in the next game against India.
“The same goes for Shoaib Malik. He is our senior player and I am sure a good innings from him is just around the corner, hopefully in the India game,” he said.
