The word of cricket recently bid farewell to one of the greatest all-rounders to grace the limited overs format - India’s World Cup winner Yuvraj Singh. A fine batsman and a capable left-arm spinner, Yuvraj’s career is an inspiring journey of fighting hardships along the way to emerge strong as ever in the end.
Paying tribute to Yuvraj’s glamorous services to Indian cricket over the years, his rival Pakistani counterpart Shahid Afridi praised the left-hander’s brilliant level of skill in all components of the game. Afridi’s kind parting message was reciprocated by Yuvraj who, in turn, expressed admiration for ‘Lala’.
Yuvraj took a trip down memory lane and recalled Afridi’s unforgettable 45-ball century against his own team back in 2005. Awestruck by Afridi’s power hitting on that fateful day, Yuvraj remembered one of the most special knocks in Pakistan cricket history.
