The art of fast bowling has evolved a great deal in the last decade or so as bowlers have developed new varieties in order to stay relevant in the batsman friendly game of cricket. Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has become a master at using the knuckle ball after it was introduced by Zaheer Khan in 2011.
Former Pakistani pacer Waqar Younis has praised bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the only knuckle ball expert in the World Cup, and Andrew Tye who bowl the knuckle ball with great effect in limited overs cricket. He said that it is not an easy ball as the bowler has to put in a lot of hours to master this delivery and use it precisely to get wickets.
He further explained the dynamics of bowling the knuckle ball, however, he did say that he would have never been able to bowl such a delivery as his arms are not too long.
