If Pakistan ever starts counting the amazing talents they lost to complacency and bad attitude, Ahmed Shehzad would surely make the top 10. After making his debut back in 2009, the opening batsman scored heaps of runs by regularly reaching the three-figure mark.
Such an impressive and consistent run installed him as the new batting hope of the country, but what followed was horrible. In a Test series against New Zealand, the 27-year old was hit by a bouncer of Kiwi all-rounder Corey Anderson from where he never really recovered to get back his batting mojo. While he made few comebacks in the national team but the batting class was nowhere to be seen.
However, the Lahore born is in no mood to give up as he believes that there is plenty of cricket left in him. For this reason, the stylish player is currently sweating it out in gym to maintain high fitness standards. There is no doubt about Shehzad looking a lot fitter and leaner but, he would have to emulate similar success with bat if he dreams to don the green jersey again.
