The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Board of Governors (BoG) recently conducted a meeting, where it was decided they will strictly assess the subpar performances of the team in the ongoing World Cup. The ‘robust review’ will analyze the team and support personnel and pinpoint the shortcomings and mistakes committed over the past few years.
"It was agreed, and as previously stated, following the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2019, the PCB will carry-out a robust review and analysis of the side's and the team support personnel's performances in the past three years and submit their recommendations to the chairman and the BoG for their consideration,” the BoG release stated.
Pakistan still have an outside chance of making it to the semi-finals provided they win all their remaining games and other results go their way. Meanwhile, captain Sarfaraz Ahmed received an encouraging phone call from PCB chairman Ehsan Mani telling him to just focus on on-field performances.
