Ordinary performance has become a norm for South Africa in this year's ICC Cricket World Cup. The cricket world has not seen the type of South Africa they used to witness. Proteas faltered against New Zealand at Birmingham and further halted their world cup campaign.
New Zealand vanquished over South Africa with 4 wickets and 3 balls remaining. Kane Williamson's brilliance got the Kiwis home in a nail-biting thriller. He scored a magnificent century and got New Zealand out of peril.
South Africa's performance in the field was below par. They let the match drift out of their hands in the later part of New Zealand's innings. Their perfunctory attitude was evident from the drop catches and not appealing for Williamson's caught behind which was later proven out by the "Snicko".
South Africa chances to qualify for the semi-finals have almost faded. They will face Pakistan in their next encounter at Lords on 23rd of June.
