After a series of lackluster displays, Pakistan sits on the verge of getting eliminated from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 event. During the tournament, dropped chances and missed run-outs remained a hallmark of Pakistan’s fielding. Needless to say, such events witnessed the boys in green paying a heavy price.
With all that, fitness of Pakistan players is in focus as the comparisons with Indian and other players made rounds on social media. The latest man to lambaste the fitness of the green team is former England captain Nasser Hussain who is considered as one of the ardent supporters of Pakistan Cricket.
Sharing his views on Pakistan’s journey in the ongoing mega-event in England and Wales, the cricketer turned commentator said that Pakistani players look ‘overweight and cumbersome’. This, he believes, causes Pakistan to produce lackadaisical outings in the field.
However, the 51-year old isn’t ready to write Pakistan off as he opined that they are known to make historic comebacks in the major tournaments. While the situation from here looks troublesome, but Pakistan can take heart from their Champions Trophy 2017 triumph in same territory and conditions.
