The second edition of the Global T20 League Canada is scheduled to be held in July and August this year after the first edition proved to be a huge success last year. Cricket stars from all around the world participated in the league which helped in attracting fans to the stadiums.
The franchises have completed their squads for season 2 of the tournament as a number of new faces would also join this year. From Pakistan, former captain Shahid Afridi and speedster Wahab Riaz have been picked by Brampton Wolves while Umar Akmal has gone to Winnipeg Hawks,
Vancouver Knights have acquired experienced Pakistani batsman Shoaib Malik alongside Chris Gayle as they want to benefit from his vast T20 experience. Furthermore, Shadab Khan, and Mohammad Nawaz have gone to Edmonton Royals where they would play under players like Kane Williamson and Faf du Plessis.
Winnipeg Hawks have roped in a couple of T20 specialists including Dwayne Bravo, Chris Lynn, and JP Duminy to strengthen their batting while Brampton Wolves have bought Shakib Al Hasan to strengthen their bowling.
Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has been bought by Toronto Nationals where he would feature alongside Brendan McCullum, Kieron Pollard, and Trent Boult.
