The pace sensation of Jammu & Kashmir, Rasikh Salam had a promising start to his career as he registered quality outings to grab a lot of attention. Making his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut for Mumbai Indians, the 18-year old looked on a mission to become India’s next bowling hero.
However, a wrongdoing has earned him a bad name as the skillful quick has been removed from India’s Under-19 squad for submitting a fake birth certificate. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to punish Rasikh by banning the paceman for a two-year period. Moreover, Prabhat Maurya has been roped into the side as Rasikh’s replacement for the ODI tri-series which is scheduled to commence from July 21 in England.
Despite playing a handful of games, the talented cricketer seemed to have a lot of maturity with which he aimed to achieve more success. However, he only has himself to blame for the suspension. Rasikh is only the second cricketer to feature in India’s biggest cricketing gala after Pervez Rasool who played for Pune Warriors and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
