Carrying a plethora of experience, Shoaib Malik, the veteran all-rounder of Pakistan, was picked for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament despite having a shoddy record in England. However, the senior pro failed miserably by bagging only 8 runs in the three games he played so far.
This ignited people who lashed out at Malik for his listless displays. Moreover, his family was also found in the circle of criticism. Seeing all this frustrated the other senior member of the team as Mohammad Hafeez reflected on the ongoing backlash against Malik.
The 38-year old opined that fans have every right to condemn the recent performances of Malik, but no one should discard his career as he served Pakistan for 20 long years. Moreover, Hafeez urged fans to not lose sense while sharing their frustration as players also have families.
Finally, the Sargodha born revealed that he, Malik and all the other players are striving hard to give their best shot in the remaining games to give Pakistan some chance of qualifying for the semi-finals of the competition.
