Misbah comments on fans' volatile support

The trend of fans abusing Pakistani players in the aftermath of the 89-run defeat to India at Old Trafford unfortunately gained traction over the last week. The aggrieved fans perhaps went out of their limits to verbally attack players with personal insults creating a hostile atmosphere.

Taking note of the volatility of the support of fans and negative media campaigns, former Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq claimed he was disheartened by the attitude of followers of the Men in Green.

“You are with them when they're winning, but in difficult times you are nowhere there,” he stated as he directed attention towards the desertion the team currently finds itself. He hoped fans will mature in due course and realize that players are also normal human beings like them who require confidence and motivation to succeed.
