Gulbadin Naib in awe of Indian team

In their 6th game of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament, Afghanistan came extremely close to upset a top quality side like India. However, the Afghan team showed inexperience as the men in blue won pressure moments to keep their unscathed World Cup record alive by beating an inspired Afghanistan unit by 11 runs.

While Afghanistan lost a crucial chance to register a historic victory, they won hearts by giving India a run for their money. Skipper Gulbadin Naib recently shared his adoration for Indian unit and particularly Virat Kohli. Reflecting on the game, the 28-year old added that he is a huge admirer of the Indian team and always supports them. However, he was proud of the way his team competed.

“We missed a big opportunity to beat India. They are one of the best units in the world. India is my favorite team and I always back them against any opposition. Indian captain Virat Kohli is the player I like the most. So, it was a great experience to play against them,” Glubadin Naib said as he shared his thoughts in the post-match press conference.
