Afghanistan are yet to get off the mark in the World Cup points table as they occupy the last position. With just two more games to play, Gulbadin Naib’s men would be desperate to recover some lost pride before they head home following the abysmal tournament campaign.
Highlighting the faults of the Afghanistan side in the aftermath of their seventh consecutive loss, Naib was critical of the shambolic fielding of his team. He harangued the Afghan players for not being alert on the field and conceding overthrows at crucial stages of the game.
“If you look at our fielding, I’m a little disappointed. He [Rashid Khan] is also disappointed with it... in fact at times very angry on the field. Rashid is someone who gets very upset if you don’t feel well. It’s upsetting when you try to give your best and the fielders give away those extra runs,” he said.
