Pakistan bowling coach Azhar Mahmood has responded to head coach Mickey Arthur’s comments of wanting to commit suicide in the aftermath of the humiliating defeat to India, by criticizing the media for their constant negative coverage of the team.
Mahmood claimed the pressure from media that is persistent on highlighting only the weaknesses of the side deflates the spirits of the players and support staff. He thus pleaded the media to outline the positive performances of the Pakistan side particularly after their win over South Africa.
“There is so much media pressure, no one says anything positive. Haris played an extraordinary innings and then Mickey was asked why he was tired after 70 minutes. For God’s sake, say some positive things too. This is why a person feels like committing suicide, like eating poison,” he told reporters.
