PCB awards lucrative contracts to female cricketers

In a bid to incentivize women cricketers, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to increase remuneration of its centrally contracted players significantly. The PCB has provided such lucrative contracts to 10 of its elite women cricketers, reducing the number from 17 in the previous year.

The players have been divided into three categories, with Sana Mir and Nida Dar placed in Category A while six female cricketers occupy the Category B and two in Category C. There has been a 20%, 18.5% and 18% increase in the salaries in all of these categories individually.

On the occasion of these positive changes, PCB Managing Director, Wasim Khan, said: “The PCB is pleased to announce the upgraded and enhanced central contracts to our women cricketers for the next 12 months, which reflect the value, respect and importance we place in our women international cricketers.”
