With the passage of time, the beautiful game of cricket has undergone many changes. However, the basics are still the same. All these changes witnessed cricket becoming more of a batsman’s game, but the top bowlers portray their class time and again. Speaking of bowling, all the good bowlers possess deadly yorkers with which they bamboozle the opposition in crunch situations.
Recently, Pakistan’s recalled paceman Wahab Riaz decided to share his take on bowling such deliveries. The 33-year old admitted that bowling yorkers takes a plethora of efforts as even the slightest of the mistakes can help a batsman get the boundary and release pressure. Extending the discussion, Wahab added that the tips of legendary cricketer Wasim Akram aided him as he used them to practice a lot.
“It is never easy to execute yorkers properly. If you miss your length, the batters are always ready to smash you. Bouncer too is hard to deliver but yorkers require a lot of effort. Watching Wasim Bhai (Wasim Akram) helped me learn a lot, so I’m hopeful to keep using it for our advantage,” Wahab added as he opened up about delivering yorkers.
