Australian opener David Warner has been constantly receiving a hostile reception from the English ever since his return to international cricket. However, this has not stopped the left-handed batsman from scoring heavily in the tournament.
“At the end of the day. People have the right to come in here, they pay their dollars and if they want to boo us, they can. I said before, I thrive on that stuff, I love it. I went out to the corner there... and copped it. At the end of the day you have to smile they pay their money to come and watch us,” Warner said.
He returned to the national side after serving a 12-month ban for ball tampering alongside Steve Smith. Since then, the English crowd has frequently decided to remind Smith and Warner of their attempts to cheat during the game against South Africa.
