Pakistan have pulled a historic comeback in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament as the men in green have the semi-final berth in their sight now. In a crucial game against New Zealand, the boys in green delivered with both willow and leather to claim 2 crucial points and pressurize other teams.
While the bowling unit was found on target, it was actually the batting heroics of Babar Azam and Haris Sohail which turned the game in Pakistan’s favor. After Mohammad Hafeez continued the trend of gifting his wicket to a part-timer, Haris joined Babar and the duo shared a match changing 126-run partnership.
Like all others, this batting effort moved former Pakistan ODI captain Azhar Ali to land accolades on the two players. The 34-year old was in the stadium to back the green team and the victory made him immensely proud.
Sharing his views on Pakistan’s sublime win which ended New Zealand’s winning run in the ongoing championship, the Lahore born added that it was great to see Pakistani batters showing cool head under pressure. Moreover, Azhar Ali urged the green team to carry this confidence and continue their good run in the mega-event.
