Gambhir foresees Babar’s dominancy in Pakistan’s batting history

With a gorgeous century against New Zealand, Pakistan’s run machine Babar Azam travelled the distance from a contributor to a match winner. This allowed the Lahore born to see his name making rounds on social media. Even the rival country India was found lionizing the batting heroics of Pakistan’s number 3 batsman.

Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir who is usually found bitter towards Pakistan was witnessed in awe of the 24-year old player. Even in the past, the 37-year old didn’t shy away from admitting Babar’s class. Performing the commentary duties during Pakistan’s World Cup clash with New Zealand, the cricketer turned commentator predicted Babar Azam to become a batting giant of the country if handled properly.

The Delhi born, while commentating on the game said, “Babar Azam contains a good and cool head on his shoulders which is a big plus. It is pleasing to see Babar in full flow. If handled properly, this boy can end up as one of the finest batters ever to play for Pakistan.”
