Brathwaite fined for dissenting umpire's decision

Carlos Brathwaite has been fined 15% of his match fee for protesting an umpire's decision during his team's World Cup defeat to India that knocked them out of the tournament. Brathwaite's actions have been adjudged to be in violation article 2.8 of the International Cricket Council's code of conduct.

The incident occurred during the 42nd over of the India innings when the umpire gave a wide off Brathwaite's delivery to Hardik Pandya even though the batsman had shuffled inside the line to pull.

The all-rounder has received a demerit point for his expression of dissent adding on to the demerit point already in Brathwaite’s name that he received during the game against England.
