The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 has been a disappointing tournament for the South African side as they were the second team to be knocked out of the tournament with just 2 wins in 8 encounters with just one game to go.
The dismal performance by the senior players has been a major disappointment for the team as the inexperienced players were looking up to them for motivation. Senior all-rounder, JP Duminy has apologized to the people of South Africa for the team’s mediocre performances in the World Cup.
“It's been pretty dismal from our part. We obviously want to apologies to the public and the South African fans for letting them down. You know when you represent your country that is a proud moment in itself. And when you put in performances like that, you know, you in a way almost feel ashamed of that,” he said.
Duminy is set to play his final ODI for South Africa on the 6th of July against Australia as he had announced it before the start of the tournament regarding his decision.
