The chances of several teams to qualify for semi-finals of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 are hanging by the thread at the moment as each team is looking at the results of other teams to evaluate its future in the tournament.
After losing comprehensively against India, the Pakistan team made a strong comeback against South Africa and New Zealand which has now brought them back in the race for the knockout stage.
Former Pakistani speedster Waqar Younis has been really impressed with the performances of team Pakistan in the last two games as he heaped praise on the top performers including Shaheen Shah Afridi and Babar Azam for stepping up when the team needed them the most.
“The momentum seems to have shifted with these two wins, as well as England losing to Australia. That result gave Pakistan some hope. They knew that if they beat New Zealand they could increase the pressure on England and give themselves a real chance of making the semi-finals,” he said.
