Not long ago, Pakistan’s World Cup hopes were about to get smashed as consecutive defeats against defending champions Australia and arch-rivals India installed Pakistan on the brink of elimination. However, the boys in green portrayed the ‘Cornered Tigers’ spirit to register a scintillating comeback.
Former West Indian captain and one of the greats of the game Vivian Richards has recently reflected on the journey of Pakistan in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament. The Antigua born opined that the spirited Pakistan side can now go on to win the event if they hold on to their self-belief. Being an ardent supporter of the country, the 67-year old brought forward his best wishes for the green team.
“To the Pakistan coaching staff and players themselves, I wish them the best of luck in the remaining games. All Pakistan need to do now is to continue believing in themselves and that belief comes as you continue to win. Good Luck to Pakistan,” Viv said in his endearing message for Pakistan team.
