Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has been a guiding light for Indian cricket for a long time now and he might be the only experienced player in the subcontinent history who groomed a young captain under his wings after giving up the responsibility.
The wicket-keeper batsman has had a sluggish tournament so far which has attracted a lot of criticism from the fans and critics. However, skipper Virat Kohli has backed his senior player to play a critical role for the team in upcoming matches.
“We have total belief in him. He has stood up for the team many times, especially if you look at this calendar year and performances he has given. I don’t think it’s fair to point out 1-2 performances which anyone can falter with the bat. We’re not looking too much into it,” he said.
